Smokey has FIV...

The vet's office called this morning and said it doesn't look good for Smokey. His bloodwork came back and he has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is the cat version of HIV (AIDS). How the hell does a four month-old kitten get AIDS??? To make matters worse there's a chance Serenity might have it too now, since he could have given it to her any of the times they fought and he bit her. Smokey is precious and I love him, but I wish Daryll and Melinda had taken him WITH them when they moved. Then Serenity would never have been put at risk (unless he got it from her, but where the hell could SHE have gotten it?) and I wouldn't be sitting here waiting for a four month old baby to die. This isn't fair. I think of all the people who told me they wanted Smokey after I got him: Evan, Shelly, Chris... On one hand I wish I had given him away so I wouldn't be feeling as crappy as I do right now, but I don't wish this horror on ANY of them!
